About Ask Building Control Ltd
We are a Private Sector Building Control Company authorised to provide the complete Building Control Service from design stage through to satisfactory completion on site. We provide Building Control Approval and can make all decisions relating to the Building Regulations.
ASK was founded in 2012 by Building Control Surveyors Paul Sessford and Paul Willmore. As an organisation, we have a desire to provide a positive Building Control experience by encouraging an early dialogue to help develop your ideas and aspirations into reality. We believe Building Control should facilitate a project through to completion by encouraging you to ask us when in doubt and our ability to provide practical solutions.
We are licensed by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and have ISO 9001 accreditation.
We will:
• Advise you on how the Building Regulations apply to your work
• Notify the Local Authority
• Assess the plans
• Undertake statutory consultations
• Issue a Plans Certificate (if required)
• Inspect the work as it progresses
• Issue a Final Certificate
Experience
- Our team of Building Control Surveyors have plenty of industry experience. We have great local knowledge of Harrogate and the surrounding areas. Prior to working in Building Control, many team members were involved elsewhere within the construction industry, allowing them to develop a solid understanding of how it works.
Local
- We have great working relationships with local tradespeople, builders, developers, merchants, architects, estate agents, engineers, surveyors and solicitors who recognise the value of our local services. We are keen to be responsive to your requests whilst working within our fantastic local area, so 90% of the projects we work on are within 20 miles of Harrogate.
Clients
- We can work with everyone, from domestic clients through to commercial construction projects. There is usually someone involved in a project who we have worked with before and promotes our involvement from the outset. Our business works on many levels and our service is designed to respond accordingly. Domestic projects are the heart of our business but challenging commercial projects also provide us with great satisfaction. These include Harrogate academies and colleges, and local office, shop and recreational developments.
Affordability
- Our service aims to provide overall value for money without compromising on professional integrity. We provide a cost effective and client friendly alternative to Local Authority Building Control. The total fee for our Building Control Services through to completion is agreed at the beginning of the process prior to any commitment from you and there are no additional fees to pay to the Local Authority. The advice and decisions ASK makes through the project are often based on a judgement of the requirements of the Building Regulations and your interests. Our experience provides valuable and sometimes cost saving solutions which can be agreed on site whilst maintaining standards and statutory requirements.
